What’s on in Sheffield this October

The weather outside may have taken a turn for the worse recently but there is still loads going on in Sheffield. Most of it is indoors too so when you’ve completed your Motorised activities there is plenty for you to enjoy in the nice warmth of some of Sheffield’s excellent venues.

There is so much top quality comedy on in Sheffield throughout October you’ll be hard pressed to find a better range of top quality comedians anywhere in the country. The list of comedians with Shows in Sheffield this October includes Dara O’Brian on the 5th and 6th, Jack Dee on the 8th and 9th, Michael McIntyre between the 10th and 13th, Alan Davies on the 13th, Julian Clary & Richard Herring on the 14th, Ross Noble on the 20th, Russell Kane on the 22nd Jenny Éclair on the 24th, Lee Hurst on the 25th and John Bishop on the 26th to the 28th. This is all part of the Last Laugh comedy festival which includes these and many more acts between the 2nd and 30th of October.

There are some great gigs on in Sheffield too this October including Nickelback at Sheffield Arena on the 7th of October. Kelly Clarkson also plays Sheffield  on the 18th of October and there is a great choice of bands at a range of Sheffield Venues ranging from pop acts to rock and metal at the Corporation club.

If Boxing is your thing Kell Brook takes on Hector Saldivia at the Sheffield Arena. Other sports in Sheffield this October include both football clubs Sheffield United and Wednesday, Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey club have home games and there is Grayhound racing at Owlerton stadium.

On top of all of this there is a Beer and Cider festival which runs between the 3rd and 6th of October and an annual horror film festival, Celluloid screams at the Showroom cinema between the 26th and 28th of october.. Combine these with our Sheffield stag activities and you can have a weekend you will really remember for years to come.

What’s on in Manchester in July

July is a busy month in and around Manchester for events and there isn’t a better time to visit for a Manchester Stag weekend or Hen weekend in Manchester. Whether you are looking for something sporty, something funny or something Musical, there is something for you.

On the 1st of July Manchester icons the Stone Roses play Heaton park on Sunday the 1st of July. Still gigging after nearly 30 years since they first formed they are playing three nights which culminate on the 1st of July in Heaton park which is becoming increasingly popular for huge events such as this. If you are looking for something with a little more Pop then Roxette are ringing their Charm school world tour to Manchester on the 4th of July.

For Jazz fans there is the Manchester Jazz festival running between the 13th and 21st of July. The Manchester Apollo hosts a wide variety of well known music acts including Alison Krauss on the 13th, Blink 182 on the 24th and Eddie Vedder on the 28th. Another Manchester legend in Morrissey plays the MEN arena on the 28th of July. All this goes to show Manchester offers some fantastic choice of live music to accompany your Manchester stag night or Hen night in Manchester.

For those of you looking for some comedy then you are in luck with both Hugh Laurie playing the Lowry on the 1st of July and of course there is the well known Comedy store with regular comedy acts. Sport fans can watch Team GB vs Team USA in Mens basketball on the 19th of July and If you are looking for something a little more exotic why not experience the ladyboys of Bangkok Carnival queens tour on various dates throughout July at the Sabai Pavillion which in their own words “See elaborate costumes, feel the heart breaking beats, sense the mystery and live the intensity that can only be – The Lady Boys Of Bangkoks all new production Carnival Queens.”

What’s on in Leeds this July

Leeds offers a great range of things to do in an evening on a Leeds Stag weekend or Leeds hen night. Throughout July there are a number of events going on in Leeds which we can book you into as part of your stag or hen party through Demon Wheelers.

On Saturdays in July there is the big night out at Tiger Tiger which includes entrance to the nightclub after a 2 hour comedy set. We can also book you into a pre comedy club meal and drink if you’d like. Each comedy show will usually include three comedians and an MC. This is a great addition to follow a day of Motorised activities.

On the 25th through 28th of July you can take part in 2.8 Hours later. 2.8 hours later is an original zombie survival game where you will find your way around the city to various locations without being caught by zombies. The game ends in a bar where those that have been captured by the zombies will be made up to join the zombie hoard for the zombie disco. 2.8 hours later is a fantastic addition to any stag weekend or hen weekend and is something that is fairly unique.

If you like your music in the heavy variety you can visit Ghostfest on Saturday 30th june and Sunday 1st july. Ghostfest, the UKs fastest growing independent metal and hardcore festival and this year includes over 40 bands.

The Wailers are playing Leeds O2 on Friday the 6th of July and this is a must for any Fans of Bob Marley or reggae music.

What’s on in Sheffield this July

This is the first of a series of blogs looking at the upcoming events in Sheffield with this one focusing on July.

The biggest event happening in Sheffield this july is the Tramlines festival which takes place the 20th to 22nd of July. Tramlines is a free ticketless music festival held every year in Sheffield since 2009. All you need to do is turn up and enjoy some fantastic music. In 2011 80,000 visitors turned up and the number of venues being used rose to 70 and offers something for every musical taste.

This year the festival will be headlines by Sheffield’s own Reverend and the makers. In addition to the plethora of live music there is a great range of DJ sets both over the weekend and in the run up to and after the festival itself.  This weekend really is a fantastic weekend to have a Sheffield stag weekend of Sheffield hen weekend and you can save yourself a bit of money with some free evening entertainment.

If you are a boxing fan then the 7th of July you could catch Kell Brook vs Carson Jones at the Motorpoint arena perhaps after getting yourself revved up for the big fight with some awesome motorised activities or get the adrenalin flowing with a game or two of Laser tag.

Shed Seven play the Leadmill in Sheffield on the 6th of July. On Friday 20th Sheffield Eagles play Keighley Cougars of Rugby is your thing. For the Gamers amongst you on the 7th and 8th Magna which is just over the border in Rotherham hosts Games Britannia, a Festival dedicated to the best of British gaming.

All of this coupled with a stunning range of club nights from Classic rock to the best in chart music and dance as well as some great casinos and fantastic restaurants give you some fantastic options this July in Sheffield for your Hen night or Stag night. Rage buggy lap times 9th June

Another sunny day at our activity site this weekend sadly didn’t give us a new leader on our lap time leader board so Kevin bond and his time of 17.62 is still the time to beat on track 1. Kevin has now held this lead for ten straight weeks.

The fastest time of the weekend was Alan Eastwood who recorded a time of 19.09 which was just 0.07 seconds faster than James Milton with a time of 19.16 seconds. Rage buggy lap times 19th May

This week at our activity site we were using Rage track 1 and had a lot of groups from Nottingham, Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield and Ian Childs recorded the fastest time of 19.16 seconds. Kevin Bond is still sitting pretty at the top of the Rage track 1 times with a time of 17.62. Kevin is now into his 8th week at the top of the list.

Rage buggy lap times 7th April

This weekend both rage buggy tracks created some very close times. Track 1 had 3 drivers within 0.03 of each other and 8 drivers within a second. Track 2 had 4 drivers within a tenth of a second and 17 drivers within a second. Congratulations to Adam Gordon who was fastest around track 1 with a time of 18.06, just 0.01 faster than Andy Forsyth. On Track 2 max Manning was just 0.04 faster than Kevin Potter.

Rage buggy lap times 17th march 2012

We had some very fast times this weekend all on Track 1. Matt Wilde was the fastest time of the weekend and also our new leader at the top of our top 10 times list. Matt was a whopping 0.7 seconds faster than Andy Duckham who was second fastest. and 1.14 seconds faster than the previous leader for this track. This weekend’s times now dominate our top ten and no fewer than 7 drivers were faster than the previous quickest time and eight of the top 10 are all from this weekend
